How to Solve SAT Math Algebra Problems - Common Error #6

The equation can be written as the reciprocal of the original equation. Then you should get (a+b)^1/2 = (a+b)^-1/2. (Note that the value of 1 over anything is always going to be the answer 1 whether x is positive or negative.)Then you replace a+b with 1 so 1 ^ 1/2 is 1 so the answer should be a+b =1.
