Hey guys my name is Sam lee from tvlesson.com and push ups are a great way to work out the upper body. It’s a good way to get toned for summer. It doesn’t require any weights and it’s a fun exercise to do. You can do it at home, at work, just anywhere. This is your standard pushup. Now let’s get into our standard push up position. Now both your arms should be shoulder length apart. And try to look forward if u can. So you have your back straight and your butt flat. When you go down, go down slow and try to get a feel for the muscles trying to stretch. You go down, and you push. This works out your pectorals shoulders and your triceps. The second type of push up is called the diamond push up. This works out your inner pectorals and your triceps. Now to do a diamond push up, you first have to make a diamond with your hands on the ground and put it between your chests. Now when you go down, go down trying to put your chest into that diamond. And then bring yourself back up. Keep your head straight, back straight, and your butt flat. Like that. Now the third push up is called the wide push up. The wide push up works out your outer pectorals, shoulders and triceps. Now the wide push up is exactly the same as the standard push up but the only difference is the wide push up is wider. Now spread your hands apart, and then from here you go down. Head straight, back straight and butt flat. Go down, stretch your muscles. Go down and so forth. Get a good feel of stretching because that’s the whole point of pushups. So stretch those pectorals. So anyways pushups are a great way to work out your upper body. I’ve already shown you three already: standard, diamond and the wide. All you need are those three to make a well defined upper body. Pushups like any other sports require determination, consistency, and quality over quantity. Just because you’re doing many pushups doesn’t mean you’re getting a good work out. Make sure you go down in deep and get a good stretch. That’s what makes your muscles tear and rebuild. And that’s how people get big pecs. Make sure when you go down you look straight, keep your back straight and your butt flat. Because if your butt is up, you are teepeeing. If you’re doing that you’re going to work out the wrong muscles and you’re not going to get that defined pecs you wanted. To challenge yourself, grab a chair and try those push ups elevated. |
