Hi everyone welcome to tvlesson.com my name is grant and I’m going to teach you how to change a spare tire today. So in most vehicles if you need to locate your tire they’re usually located in the trunk unless you’re driving a SUV or truck which it will then be located under the car. Over here we have a jack. On this side we have all our tools and our tire located here. I’m going to pull all this out and show you guys how to do this. Okay so we got our spare tire here, our jack stand and our tools with lug nuts. We have a lug nut key so we can deter people stealing your rims. First up were going look up under the car and were going look for the folded pieces of metal and that’s going to be our jack point. And that’s going to be our jack point where we place the jack. Now we’re just going to raise up the jack a little bit because it’s a lot easier to do it out here then under the car. Alright so once we get the jack into position we don’t want to jack up the car just yet. We’re going to just break the torque on the lug nuts. You always got to remember righty tighty lefty loosey. Alright, now that all our lug nuts are nice and loose now they’re not finger loose but they’re loose enough that we can deal with it and not deal with the torque now let’s start jacking up the car now. This is kind of the boring part. Alright so now once the tire has left the ground you can take out the lug nuts rest of the way. So now that we have got all our lug nuts off we just have to remove the tire. At this point we put the flat tire in the back of the car and we put on our donut. Now with most donuts they come with new cars nowadays. They’re good for about 40 miles before you have to get your tire changed. It’s important to get it changed as soon as possible. Now what we want to do is put our lug nuts back on. Don’t worry about tightening down all the way yet. Just put them on snug so they don’t go anywhere. So when we have them all snug we can lower the car back down. Now once we got the car back down on the ground, you can now, tighten up all these lug nuts. When you tighten these you want to do this in a star pattern. So you start off with the top here and you skip one, then you skip the next one, and tighten this one down, then skip one, tighten that one down and skip to the next one and tighten that one down. And once you’re done you’re ready to get back on the road. This has been grant from tvlesson.com thanks for watching.
