Blocking Technique Step 1: Get in your striking stance. Step 2: To block a quick jab to the head, from your striking stance you throw your palm to your forehead to block it. Make sure there is no space between your hand and forehead or you will end up smacking yourself in the head. Step 3: To block a hook and kick to the head, from your striking stance throw your hand to the side of your head, placing your palm above your ear, and keeping your elbow tight. Then lean so that your elbow goes down towards your hip in order to block potential combination head and body shots.
