As a KTLA/CW news reporter, Jaime Chambers continues a KTLA/CW tradition of providing reliable news coverage. His demonstrated versatility in reporting a variety of stories and features serves KTLA/CW and its viewers well.
Grandson of legendary KTLA/CW reporter Stan Chambers, Jaime joined KTLA/CW as a news intern after attending college in Santa Barbara where he studied biology and planned to become a doctor. While in college he became a medic and lifeguard and went to Fiji to provide medical relief.
Jaime was hired as a KTLA/CW news assignment desk assistant in 2001. After assisting in KTLA's coverage of the September 11th terrorist attacks, the young Chambers made the decision to stick with a career in broadcast journalism.
Jaime broke into reporting when, in 2003, he happened to be in the Fairfax area of Los Angeles as a small plane crashed into a nearby apartment building. Using his experience as a medic, Jaime tried to help victims until the fire department and paramedics arrived. A KTLA/CW news reporter on the scene interviewed Jaime live to ascertain what the status of some of the victims were. Jaime's clear and concise report impressed KTLA/CW news management so much that it was decided he would train as a reporter under his grandfather, Stan Chambers. |
