PC Build This video demonstrates how to correctly install RAM (Ready Access Memory) into the motherboard of your computer.
Step 1: locate your DIMM slots. Pull back the white pins to make sure they are in an open position.
Step 2: Line up the pins. Note that one side of the RAM is slightly longer than the other. Make sure you align them correctly so that the gap on the RAM line up with the gap on the DIMM slot.
Note: If you are building your computer for Windows Vista, you may want to install just one stick of RAM, as you will need an update to handle more than 3GB of RAM. After setting up your computer and updated it, you can then install additional RAM.

Transcription Hello everyone, welcome to tvlesson.com my name is Grant and today I will be teaching you how to switch out ram in a mac book pro. First off, you’ll need a small Phillips screw driver, your ram and your laptop. Let’s get started. Alright step 1, you want to flip the laptop over. Step 2, you want to remove these 3 screws here and remove the cover. Now that we have that off, we’ll expose that ram. Step 3 we want to remove the ram. We’re going to take these handles here and flip them out like so. This pops up and slide it back towards yourself. Now we put in our new ram. It gets quirky so make sure its snug in there so we get a solid connection. Now snap it into place. So again make sure it’s nice and snug. Push it down and it snaps into place. Next step we’re going to put everything back together. Okay, now you want to slide the battery back in and there you go. That’s how you upgrade ram in a mac book pro.

NightSkye Before doing anything inside a computer, you must ground yourself. The processesor, RAM and the mothernoard could all be affected by static electricity. Work on a grounded surface but be sure that theres no amount of static electricity in your body before you touch the CPU. You may also strap yourself and switch the plug to any outlet so that it will drain any of your body's static electricity.
