bigmac Flat tires happen every once in a while. The good thing is fixing it on a bike is much easier than on a car for example. You will not need to buy a new tire either, unless someone slashed it. You might need a new tube, but if you\'re lucky all you need to do is glue a patch over the hole.

Irene Everyone should know how to change a flat tire, regardless of the type of vehicle. However safe you are in driving, or even if you check everything about your car before using it – there’s bound to be a time when you will need your tire-changing skills.
Step 1: If you’re on the road, pull your car over to a safe, flat area. Step 2: Put your car on “Park” or first gear, and apply the emergency brake. Step 3: Locate and check your spare tire. In most trucks and SUVs, the spare tire is located under the vehicle. Retrieve it, following the steps on your car owner’s manual. Step 4: Check the spare tire’s pressure before proceeding with changing the flat tire. Step 5: If the spare tire’s pressure is okay, pop the cover to expose the lug nuts, which can be loosened with a tire iron. Loosen them just enough so they’re easier to turn by hand. If the nuts are too tight, you can use your foot for extra leverage in loosening them. Step 6: Place the jack underneath your car; align it so that it lifts the car by the frame. Connect the handle piece to the jack and turn it clockwise to lift the vehicle. Step 7: Once the vehicle is lifted and the flat tire is off the ground, remove the lug nuts and put them in a safe place so you don’t lose them. Step 8: Remove the flat tire and lay it on the ground away from the vehicle. Step 9: Line up the spare tire and put it in the right position. Step 10: Put the lug nuts back on and tighten them by hand. Step 11: Tighten the lug nuts completely with the tire iron. Start with a lug nut, and then proceed with the one farthest away from it. Repeat this process until all nuts are completely tight. Step 12: Slowly lower the vehicle then remove the jack from underneath it. Make sure the lug nuts are tight one last time. Step 13: Keep in mind that spare tires are most often only for low-speed travel, so have your original tire repaired or replaced as soon as possible.
