Melt and Pour Soap Making: Pouring Soap in Layers Part III
By: whitesnow
This is the 3rd part of the series on how to melt and pour from www.goplanetearth.com. Here are the final steps: 1. Cube clear soap and place in glass measuring cup. 2. Melt soap in microve. 3. Pour a 1/4" layer of clear soap into mold cavity. 4. Allow a think skin to form on clear soap, then position cut out embeds inside mold cavity. 5. Position pearl pink heart slice on top of cut out embeds. 6. Liberally spray embeds with rubbing alcohol and pour another thin layer of clear soap. 7. Spray poured layer with rubbing alcohol to remove any surface air bubbles. 8. Repeat process for each molded cavity. 9. While the heart soaps firm, or set up, begin working with the oval molds. 10. We used the same cookie cuters from part 2 and stamped out a daisy and a circle from the pearl pink heart and placed inside the oval. 11. Reheat clear soap, adding additional cubes if needed. Color soap with pearl pink soap color. We added extra color to deepen the pink shade. 12. Pour the pink soap as your final layer. Top off all the molded cavities in both the heart and the oval. 13. Spray the soap surface with rubbing alcohol to remove air bubbles produced when pouring the soap. 14. Allow soaps to set for several hours or overnight before releasing from mold.
