How to Correctly Apply Lipstick |

Lipstick or lip colour can add that final vibrancy to a woman’s face, after it has been primped by foundation and eye makeup. Taking the effort to scrutinize, and eventually the perfect shade of lip colour would be a worthy endeavour. You will need lip stick, lip balm, lip liner, lip brushes, facial tissues and a mirror.
Step 1: Choose a lip colour that’s right or appropriate for the occasion.
Step 2: Go for colours that reflect the natural shade of your lips, which can also enhance your facial features.
Step 3: Use lip colours with a matte finish for use during the daytime or in a professional setting.
Step 4: Lip colours with a glossy or shiny finish are more appropriate for use in the evenings or for non-professional occasions.
Step 5: Make sure that you have already applied foundation, eye makeup and blush before you apply the lip colour.
Step 6: Apply a small amount of lip balm to your lips to make them moist.
Step 7: Using the lip liner, draw a fine line on the outline of your lips. Make sure that the lip liner is about one shade darker than your actual lipstick – avoid using lip liners whose shades vary a lot from your lipstick.
Step 8: Apply the lip colour from the tube; you can also use a small lipstick brush for more control. Coat the lips evenly, making sure to stay within the lip outline.
Step 9: After applying the lip colour, check your teeth to make sure that they were not stained by the lipstick.
Step 10: For the colour to stay longer on your lips, shade them with the lip liner after defining the edges. This way, even after the lipstick has faded, you still have a hint of colour from the lip liner shade.
Step 11: Balance heavy eye makeup with a light shade of lip colour, so your whole face and features don’t look overpowered by makeup.
Step 12: To give an illusion of a thicker upper lip, line its edges but forego doing the same with the lower lip.
Step 13: Keep your lip liner chilled so it will be easier to sharpen. |
