Candy is a traditional Valentine’s Day gift, but it can be pretty boring. If you want to really get your Valentine excited, try giving her home-made chocolate fudge! Follow this recipe to Valentine’s Day success!
Instructions
Things you will need:
2¾ oz (5 ½ tablespoons) unsalted butter, plus a little more for greasing
1 lb, 2 oz (18 oz) semisweet chocolate
1 ¾ cup condensed milk
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Large saucepan
Stirring spoon
Electric hand mixer
9 inch square cake pan

Lightly grease your cake pan with the extra butter. Set aside.

Break up the chocolate pieces and put them in a large saucepan with the butter and condensed milk.

Heat this mixture slowly over low to medium heat. Stir until the chocolate and butter melt and everything becomes smooth. Be careful not to let it boil!

Remove the mixture from heat. With an electric mixer, beat the vanilla extract into the melted mixture. Continue to beat the mixture until it thickens.

Pour the mixture into the greased pan and smooth it evenly throughout.

Cover with plastic wrap and put the pan into the refrigerator until it becomes firm.

Cut the fudge into squares, or try using a knife or a cookie cutter to make heart-shaped pieces of fudge.

Wrap the fudge pieces in a nice gift box or tin and give it to your Valentine. Enjoy the yumminess together!
Tips & Warnings
Use at least 70% cocoa.
Chocolate burns easily when melting over heat, so watch it carefully.
