In today’s day and age the cupid can’t just choose couples to shoot an arrow at, it’s discriminatory. So take advantage of the cupid and his quest for love and treat yourself to a day of pampering!

Decorate your apartment and your cubicle at work with red cut-out hearts, pink candles, glittery tinsel and red & pink M & M’s. You’ll tempt the cupid to send an arrow in your direction.

Buy yourself some lingerie in the form of a comfy nightgown or lounge pants and a tank that you can watch a chick-flick in on Valentine’s Day evening. You deserve to look good for you! I recommend renting When Harry Met Sally or Bride Wars.

Book yourself a 90 minute massage appointment. This experience is the best of both worlds. You can have a person of the opposite sex rub you down, paying special attention to your sore muscles and expect nothing in return. Not a bad deal, other than the fact that you have to pay them, but hey, no headache to deal with afterwards!

Pick up good quality take-out food on the way home and eat on the good plates, if you own any. Many have to register for these on their wedding registry. You may be doing this soon, if you fool the cupid!

After dinner take a bath with lots of bubbles, lit candles and a good glass of wine. I’m sure if your tub is as small as mine, only one person can fit for a soak, so you shouldn’t be missing any snuggling at this point.

Buy yourself a 2 pound box of good quality chocolate, See’s or Godiva and be prepared to indulge! There are no rules that say you can’t buy yourself chocolate on Valentine’s Day. If you become depressed that you don’t have a partner to share the holiday with, start eating the chocolate. Eventually the sugar will kick in and you’ll be feeling good, sans partner!

Continue drinking the bottle of Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon you opened earlier, this will complement the chocolate and increase your overall sense of well-being. This increases your chances of passing out and when you wake; it will be February 15, no more couples celebrating love!
