Choosing a love song for your relationship isn't just for our parents. Finding "a song" can be romantic, meaningful, and a significant milestone when taking the next step with your love bird. Whether you and your significant other are funny, artistic, solemn, or crazy, there's the perfect love song out there for every couple.
Instructions
Step
1
Pick one word to define your relationship, such as funny, happy, strong, difficult, etc. You can do this with your significant other or without, depending if you want this love song to be a surprise.
Step
2
Think about your music taste. Try to pick a song that both of you like, even if your music tastes are different. Choosing a classic or an oldie is better because it'll never go out of style. Try to get a little more creative than Natalie Cole's "Everlasting Love," but more original than Aerosmith's "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing." Songs in movies are a good idea, but can be a little cheesy.
Step
3
Look through iTunes to brainstorm. iTunes is great because they give samples of songs you can buy. You can even type in "Love Songs" to get more of a selection. Some ideas:
-For the sarcastic couple: Ingrid Michaelson's "The Way I Am"
-For the silly couple: Sonny and Cher's "I Got You Babe"
-For the romantic couple: Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game"
-For the happy couple: Stevie Wonder's "You are the Sunshine of my Life"
-For the serious couple: The Police's "Every Breath You Take"
-For the sad couple: Death Cab For Cutie's "I'll Follow You into the Dark"
Step
4
Burn your new love song to a blank CD to share with your significant other and remember to play it on anniversaries, special occasions, or to be reminded of what defines your relationship.
Tips & Warnings
Never choose a song that was used in a previous relationship!
