How to Make Your Name Appear 3D

By: viviennebarlow

Writing your name in 3D is simple, fun and it looks cool. Here is an easy way to go about doing so without having major art skills.

Instructions

Things you will need:
  • A pencil
  • Paper
Step
1

imgStart by making your name out of block letters.

Step
2

imgDraw arrows, creating a light source for your letters.

Step
3

imgFill in the darkest parts of the letters (a.k.a where the least amount of light hits). Lessen the amount of pressure you put on your pencil as you move closer to the light.

Step
4

Shade the rest of the letters similar to that, constantly keeping in mind where the light would be strongest and lightest.

Step
5

imgBlend the rest with your finger so that it all looks even.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try using a regular pencil instead of a mechanical one. The pictures above are used with a mechanical pencil and the effect isn't as great.
