How to Backmask

By: stars

Backmasking is a soundtrack technique in which a sound or message is recorded toward the back onto a track that is meant to be played ahead. It is a deliberate process, whereas a message found through phonetic turnaround may be unintentional. Here's how you can perform backmasking:

Instructions

Things you will need:
  • Song you want to backmask
  • Recorder
  • Sound editing software
Step
1

Decide on what song you want to backmask. There are a lot of songs that contain satanic subliminal messages. Even the latest music like Umbrella by Rihanna, Crank that, songs of different artists, etc.

Step
2

Play the songs backward and try to distinguish the lines. Flip the soundfile around by using a form of sound editing software. Write out the lyrics as it is played backward.

Step
3

Write down the backmasked song and put the lyrics that you heard

Step
4

Record the song forward and hum the tune with the lyrics you have.

Step
5

Listen to the song backwards and familiarize with the backward lyric melody. Record it with the lyrics you wrote previously

Step
6

Use these lyrics to record the song forwards finally. When played backwards you will hear what sounds like your original lyrics.
